Grandpa's Cottage
Grandpas Cottage is a pretty unique oasis. The house was originally build by our great grandmother and uncle in 1968 as an upgrade from the semi turf house they previously lived in on the estate. Grandpa and his brothers acquired the house after her passing in the early 1980's. By that time they had all moved to the city and shared the house as a summerhouse and a get away back to their roots. The house is by no mean luxurious or elegant. But it has a lot of soul and a beautiful peaceful wipe.

A friendly old farmhouse built in 1926, that has been renovated. There are no animals anymore, but a horse rental is only a 2 minutes walk. A peaceful surrounding with a crystal clear salmon river (a fishing license needed) right by the house. Located in the countryside close only a 2-3 minutes drive from Hólmavík village, which has several attractions, an excellent geothermal pool, a supermarket and a couple of good restaurants. Beautiful house just 50 m from the sea
There are six sleeping places in the house. Two bedrooms, one with double bed and the other with two single beds. Sleeping couch, double, is in the living room. Kitchen is with all normal utilities. With a dishwasher and extra large fridge Living room and dining room are in the same space. Door from the living room is out to the terrace.
