An excellent walk around the quayside starts at the Spiller's car park. Walk along to the north side of the river to the Swing Bridge. Cross the river and return on the Gateshead side. There's great coffee or meal options at the River Brewing Co and street food market. Stop in at the Baltic to view the city from their viewing gallery on the 5th floor. Then cross the Millennium Bridge and head back to the car.

Surf and paddle board lessons run from the huts at the southern end of the beach.
King Edward's bay (nearest the high street) is lovely and is home to the very well-renowned Riley's Fish Shack. Cullercoats Bay to the north is also a great place to explore.
Tynemouth high street (Front Street) has plenty of food options and boutique shops.
A great walk goes along the clifftops from Tynemouth to Whitley Bay. Alternatively, walk in the opposite direction past the statue of Collingwood and toward fish quay.

A perfect location with view out over the Tyne Bridge and Newcastle quayside.
Trakol, the main restaurant closest to the entrance of the site, serves quirky but high quality fare - think pigs' trotters and marrow bone fries!
We prefer the more casual coffee shop attached to the Backyard Bike Shop, and the varied offerings from theStreet Food Market. Continue past Trakol to reach either of these.
