Recently renovated, our gite is spacious and offers home comforts throughout and also has a games room & private pool. 1 double & 1 twin. Plenty of space for cots. 2 bathrooms. Large family kitchen/diner. Cosy lounge with woodburner. Tranquil & secluded location. Perfect for exploring whole of Brittany.

This peaceful retreat is the perfect location to relax, unwind and enjoy the unspoilt, traditional Breton countryside. With generous sized rooms, and plenty of light, the secluded gite, dating back to 1850, is ideal for families, couples or the independent traveller.


The ground floor is perfect for socialising with a spacious yet cosy lounge complete with original fireplace, wood burner, beamed ceiling and exposed stonework. There is English TV, a DVD player with a selection of DVDs, Wii console with games, books as well as board games. The newly fitted kitchen/diner is extremely well equipped and comfortably seats 6. There is also one bathroom with shower downstairs.


Stairs lead up to the first floor with 1 double and 1 twin bedroom with plenty of space in either for cots if needs be. A travel cot can be provided upon request. There is also a sizeable contemporary family bathroom with bath and shower over.


The whole property is a harmonious blend of modern practicality and traditional features. There is also access to a separate laundry room with washing machine, drying facilities, iron and ironing board ... if you have the urge to do your laundry whilst away!


The grounds are equally spacious and secluded with plenty to do for adults and children alike - all ages! With a private, fully fenced above ground heated pool, boules pitch, large climbing frame with rope ladder, swings and slide and plenty of lawn for football, badminton or a game of cricket - there's plenty to keep everyone amused.


Within the grounds there is also a games room with table tennis, pool table and darts on offer. When you've had enough of the action, there's always the large terrace, outdoor furniture & BBQ to enjoy.

Quiet and peaceful. The gite is one of half a dozen houses in the hamlet with beautiful walks along the river and in the woods nearby . However, within a couple of minutes drive you can be in the quiet yet friendly village of Lanrivain, less than 10mins in St Nicolas du Pelem with its many amenities and within 15mins in the larger towns of Rostrenen and Bourbriac. With numerous quiet lanes and the Nantes-Brest canal nearby, it's a fantastic place for cycling and walking.


Only 25mins drive away is the stunning Lake Guerledan with its pedalos, kayaking, boat trips, fishing, horse riding, small beach, cafes and restaurants. Equi-distance heading North is Guingamp with its restaurants, bars, traditional buildings with period facades, whisky distillery and lively festivals in July and August and only a little further afield there are numerous beaches, coves and boat trips to chose from.


There really is something for everyone - markets are regularly held in many of the local towns and villages nearby selling fresh produce and Breton specialities. Festivals and events celebrating Breizh (Breton) culture often take place during summer months to which visitors are always welcome . Being centrally located it's easy to explore the coastal areas and stunning beaches of Northern, Western and Southern Brittany as well as the larger attractions the area has to offer such as aquariums, castles, historic towns, water and adventure parks - each one a perfect day trip.

Passionate about France following my study of French many many moons ago!

Finally decided to buy our own little hide-away in rural Brittany as it was easy to get to with two school aged boys (hoping their French will improve!) and a great central location to share with others.

Adore French food and wine. Love experiencing the traditional, laid back way of everyday French life with all it has to offer including visiting the local markets and sitting in cafes watching the world go by.

Brittany has always appealed - maybe something to do with our Celtic roots?!. So much to do - relaxing on beaches, walking the dramatic coastline, cycling along the canals, fishing, horse riding, exploring the historic towns and discovering wonderful bars and restaurants.
