This is a large, detached cottage with garden, in the heart of the South Hams. There's footpaths that run direct from the property to the surrounding countryside. For keen walkers, it’s possible to walk to the beach. There's the most fabulous views from the garden of the sea and countryside. There's parking outside and no steps. This cottage is perfect for those who are less mobile. It's ideal for couples that seek a retreat in the countryside. There's so much wildlife and dark skies at night.

This modern, very spacious, detached stable block covers 580 sq ft and is all on one floor. It also has its own small, fenced garden area for your exclusive use.

With tasteful decoration and attention to detail, It is fabulously well equipped with a modern kitchen (electric oven, hob, microwave, dishwasher, washing machine and fridge/freezer, Nespresso coffee machine, TV and DVD player) and a brand new shower room in 2022, complete with heated floor, an enormous bedroom and plenty of living space. It is very comfortably furnished and there are DVDs, books and games for cosy nights in. Information, guide books and maps are provided to help you plan your stay. There is electric heating for chilly nights.

A lot of attention has been paid to the smallest of details and there are lots of 'extras' to try and make your stay as comfortable as possible. We are putting a lot of effort in to try and make the property as energy efficient and environmentally friendly as possible.

The very large bedroom contains a single and a double bed with extremely comfortable, good quality mattresses. As well as being great for smaller families to stay, it also lends itself perfectly to a romantic night or two away.

Situated on a rural farm you are surrounded by our fields which have stunning views in every direction. You can walk directly from the property to access footpaths leading through the countryside and down to the coast. The stunning, local, dog-friendly beach begins in the village of Torcross and runs for 2 miles to Strete Gate. It is a 7-10 minute drive away and also boasts 2 excellent beachside pubs. The local town of Kingsbridge is 4 miles away (10 min drive) where there are 2 supermarkets, a petrol station and a lovely high street.

There are chickens free-ranging outside, as well as our beautiful cats. Horses and ponies live in the field next door.

Previous guests have commented on how large the property is in comparison to the pictures and also how well equipped it is, and for those that use mobility aids or wheelchairs, there is loads of room to manoeuvre inside the property. Being in the heart of an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty and situated on top of the rolling Devon hills, you have fantastic views of the sea and Slapton Ley at nearby Torcross from our fields. Sunsets are fabulous here and there is lots of wildlife. You are more likely to hear an owl through the night than a car.
If you take a stroll around our fields you will get an amazing panoramic view reaching as far as Salcombe and Prawle Point.
There are a wealth of beaches all a short drive away (7 mins drive is the nearest) and nearby Dartmoor about half an hour by car. There are plenty of excellent pubs nearby for eating and drinking and the town of Kingsbridge can offer a wide variety of dining experiences as well as take-away deliveries.
There are footpaths running through the property and quiet rural roads for walking / cycling.
If farms are your thing there are horses on the property as well as an array of cats, a few dogs and chickens, as well as sheep and cattle in the fields at certain times of the year.

I live with my husband and 10 yr old son on our farm in South Devon where my husband runs his own fencing business. I have a menagerie of animals including horses, dogs, cats and chickens. I love nothing more than exploring the countryside on a summer evening from horseback, with my three dogs in tow. We also spend a lot of time on the beach during the summer and winter time. I have lived in the area all my life so am always happy to recommend places to you. I live next door so am on hand day or night, should you need any help or assistance.
We are making a real effort to try and become more environmentally friendly. We have installed solar panels and all our lighting will be changed to LED in the Summer of 2019. In the near future we are also going to explore the use of renewables for heating. We try to use environmentally friendly products where possible and recycle where we can.
