Tour the buildings while learning about the Shakers and their customs and values. Demonstrations of crafts, a working farm with animals. Baby animals in the spring are a huge hit with kids. They also have a cafe and outdoor seating, plus an extensive set of trails for hikers.
Interesting shaker village museum, located about 30min north of Chatham. Tells the story of the Shaker religious movement . There is also a (different) Shaker Museum in Old Chatham.
Must see. Fascinating living history museum with farm animals, gardens, and plenty of space to explore. Special presentations everyday.
Step back in time to and incredible living museum of the Shaker Village. Springtime brings all the baby animals to come and enjoy. Fall holds a splendid Quilt Show each year.
A bit of a drive but worth it. Also great for kids (animals in pasture, craft demonstrations).

“Although Guido’s is technically an organic grocery store, their grab and go lunch options are healthy, delicious, and affordable. Bonus tip, their smoothies and fresh juices in the morning are the best in town. ”

“Considering stopping to "smell the roses" at the Berkshires Botanical Gardens' 24 acres feature dozens of display areas that are educational, functional, and highly ornamental, with plant collections emphasizing plants that are native to the Northeast. It also has a lovely children's garden and family friendly programming. ”
