I'll be your guide on our interactive walk exploring the authentic diversity of township life. At first glance, life may seem a daily struggle but delve deeper and we’ll find a place of friendship and resilience. You'll see our gallery of narrative artwork telling inspirational stories of the lives of children in the township. We'll see many sights along the way; traditional wooden homes and Government-built brick homes, cattle and pigs grazing, daily laundry, every day is different. We’ll visit the corner shop to find out which foods are family favourites. Finally, we return to MADaboutART to meet the children as they sing, paint, bead, whatever the activity of the day is (curriculum dependent). On Sunday mornings we can join a local church congregation for part of their service. We hope you'll take a little township magic home with you (and leave a little piece of your heart with us) Other things to note: Unique gift items for sale made by children at MADaboutART (R50-R250), bead bracelets, cards & art. Beach Yoga, barefoot Run & dolphins Swim
Mix Beach Yoga, a Barefoot Run & Swim into one fitness routine, if possible with Dolphins. Tune into nature to de-stress from your busy life. The negative ions in sea air accelerate our ability to absorb oxygen balancing serotonin levels improving mental health. Seawater contains minerals that work as natural cosmetics on your skin. Running on the beach provides more exercise than walking on a flatter surface. Because your body is constantly counter-balancing the uneven surface of the sand, effectively working your calves, thighs & gluteal muscles without you knowing. Swimming in the sea gives you a full body workout, improves circulation & increases immune system function. Studies show that the vitamins, minerals & amino acids in seawater produce antibiotic & antibacterial effects that promote immunity. Seawater activates the body's healing mechanisms to fight conditions such as asthma, arthritis, bronchitis, inflammatory diseases, common aches & pains We will warm up over the dune with a Yoga sequence while facing the sea. Depending on people’s ability we will run 5 - 10 km's from East to West along the beach stopping to encounter Marine/Animal Life.
