Hi! My name is Rie. I have lived in Norikura Kogen (Matsumoto, Nagano) for over 30 years. I'm running a B&B with my husband and we are enjoying life in the Norikura Highlands, surrounded by breathtaking nature. We love traveling and have visited to many places, not only in Japan but also abroad. We especially love Hawaii and have visited over 20 times! We've also been to the United States, France, Italy, Spain, Turkey, Croatia, Greece, New Zealand, Singapore, Malaysia, Thailand, Korea, Hong Kong, Guam, Saipan, Vietnam and Palau. My hobbies are traveling, eating, cooking, reading, skiing, but more than anything I really like to travel. I am also keen on cultural exchange and like to share our way of living. Therefore I have been a WWOOF host for many years and had the opportunity to meet people from all over the world. I am originally from big city Yokohama (Kanagawa Prefecture next to Tokyo). Since I traveled to USA and Canada at the age of 20 and was met by warming hospitality by others, I want to pay it forward with my experience to you by my ‘OMOTENASHI’ (=hospitality). I hope you will be able to explore the breathtaking beauty and nature in Nagano. You may sleep with the fresh breeze and comforting sounds of the stream. Then wake up by the sound of humming birds, taste freshly brewed coffee and homemade bread. Enjoy your stay with my cooking too! Please ask me anything you want to ‘do’,’go’, ‘see’, ’try’ and ’eat’ here with us. I will try to do my best to answer your needs. We look forward to welcoming you as our guest and help you enjoy your upcoming vacation.
