I am Angela Arrigoni, I am almost sixty years old
and I have no regrets.
I've lived 50 years in the modern world,
but I've always had a deep desire to put my hands deep in the earth...

I found this place, far from civilization.
I found brambles covering the human atrocities of the recent past.
I found desperate people, clinging to their last penny: poor, closed, blind.

Nothing made me feel more like I were in the wrong place!
Where the snow covers everything pure white,
The sun burns the skin and leaves deep wrinkles,
The wind blows relentlessly and forces us to take shelter...

The wet meadows covered in dew drops,
The African starry nights...

This is my home
This is my place!

I breed animals, I watch them, I try to understand them.
I give them everything they need... food, shelter and freedom.
They give it back to me by nourishing me in a healthy way.
I cultivate plants, vegetables and fruits
That give me perfumes forgotten from modern tables.
