Our place is called 'Story Stay' for a reason. While a warm shower and a clean room are imperatives, we believe travel is a lot more than that.

Between my mother and I we have travelled to 30 countries. But more than the amenities, we remember the warmth of friendships and memorable encounters. And that's what my family would like you to take back from Mysuru - stories worth sharing.

Story Stay is a two-storied property with five independent apartments. Four of these are two BHKs(bedroom-hall-kitchen). Each of these apartments comes with an attached bathroom in one bedroom and a common one for the other. We as a family live in one of the apartments, so we are always on the property to help you out.

There is ample parking space on the ground floor which also has one smaller flat/apartment with a bedroom, bathroom and living room-cum-kitchen. This one is perfect for two travelers or a couple looking for a budget accommodation.

Your unit/flat/apartment is on the second floor(one of the 2BHKs) and is totally private. It has air conditioning(extra charges), kitchen with microwave, one balcony and other amenities as listed. Plus, it has an easy access to the terrace from where you can enjoy a view of Chamundi Hills and the famous Chamundeshwari temple.

The apartment can easily host six guests. If you are more than four people, we can organise mattresses for you at an extra cost. But truly, the fun is in the conversations. Most evenings we are happy to have a chat together with our guests. And once we chat, the stories will follow :)

Mahali utakapokuwa

Mysuru, Karnataka, India

My family lives in a place called LIC colony in Mysuru. It is a quiet residential neighborhood about 6-8kms from most tourist attractions.

My family moved to Mysuru from Mumbai in December 2020. But we moved to this locality in March of 2022. I loved the everyday Mysuru vibe of the locality and access to things that we need on daily basis.

Close by there is a Karnataka fisheries shop that serves fried fish and chicken(yummy). About a kilometre's walk tales you to Vivekananda circle which has some amazing street food stalls. Take my tip, don't leave Mysuru without trying 'Churmuri'.

Around our house are provision stores, a small restaurant, Indian bakeries and a fresh vegetable market that's set up every morning.

But most of all, I love the people in the locality. They are kind, humble and welcoming. I am sure they will be happy to talk to you'd like to.

Want to know more about the locality? Don't hesitate to ask me in your message.

Distance from places of tourist interest:

- Mysore palace: 8kms
- Mysore railway station: 7.5kms
- Rail museum: 7.5kms
- Chamundeshwari temple: 15kms
- Brindavan gardens: 22kms
- Nanjangud temple: 24kms

Back in 2009, I was 26 years of age. On a whim, I decided to join a French friend on a trip to South America. Yes, South America! It was my first international trip. For a month and a half, we travelled through Brazil, Argentina and Bolivia. We witnessed Iguazu falls, went to beautiful cities like Salta and Tucuman, and experienced the harsh weather of the Andes mountains in Bolivia.

Despite all of nature’s greatness, what I remember more are people. Friends like Ronald, Marta and Jose. Friends we made on the road. I also remember the crazy adventures we had together and the stories we shared. Since that trip, I believe this: we may travel for sights, but friendships and experiences we make along the way is what makes our trips special.

And that’s exactly what we are trying to provide at Story Stay in Mysuru.

Since that trip in 2009, I have been lucky to discover many more places on this planet. I quit my fairly successful public relations career in 2015 to travel the world and take challenges. Along the way, I became a journalist in Sri Lanka, learnt rock climbing in Thailand, learnt music and martial arts in Brazil, learnt Salsa in Colombia(best days of my life) and also participated in a fighting festival in Peru(not kidding!).

But it was in Mysuru that I found a home, a city where I felt I belonged. I was lucky that my family felt the same way and we all moved from Mumbai to Mysuru. I work as a business storytelling coach and trainer for corporates, business leaders and startup founders. But travel stories are the ones that are closest to my heart.

That’s why you will see that at Story Stay Mysuru we are always there to help experience the city like a local. Not just that, we are always up for some filter coffee and to share some stories. So come, let’s create great memories of Mysuru :)

My mom and aunt love interacting with guests. They are well travelled and knowledgeable. So anything guests need is alway at hand.

The rest of us(myself - Sachin, my wife - Sarika and my cousin - Tithi) tend to be busy during the day with work, but evenings we are always up for a chats.

But for guests looking for privacy or want to keep to themselves, we are happy to oblige.

We are also available on phone or messaging to answer all guest questions.

Basically we are ready to do what's best for our guests. Just like families do :)
