Back in 2009, I was 26 years of age. On a whim, I decided to join a French friend on a trip to South America. Yes, South America! It was my first international trip. For a month and a half, we travelled through Brazil, Argentina and Bolivia. We witnessed Iguazu falls, went to beautiful cities like Salta and Tucuman, and experienced the harsh weather of the Andes mountains in Bolivia.
Despite all of nature’s greatness, what I remember more are people. Friends like Ronald, Marta and Jose. Friends we made on the road. I also remember the crazy adventures we had together and the stories we shared. Since that trip, I believe this: we may travel for sights, but friendships and experiences we make along the way is what makes our trips special.
And that’s exactly what we are trying to provide at Story Stay in Mysuru.
Since that trip in 2009, I have been lucky to discover many more places on this planet. I quit my fairly successful public relations career in 2015 to travel the world and take challenges. Along the way, I became a journalist in Sri Lanka, learnt rock climbing in Thailand, learnt music and martial arts in Brazil, learnt Salsa in Colombia(best days of my life) and also participated in a fighting festival in Peru(not kidding!).
But it was in Mysuru that I found a home, a city where I felt I belonged. I was lucky that my family felt the same way and we all moved from Mumbai to Mysuru. I work as a business storytelling coach and trainer for corporates, business leaders and startup founders. But travel stories are the ones that are closest to my heart.
That’s why you will see that at Story Stay Mysuru we are always there to help experience the city like a local. Not just that, we are always up for some filter coffee and to share some stories. So come, let’s create great memories of Mysuru :)
