I have lived in rural Worcestershire since I was about 6 and have always treasured being close to rivers, woodland and hills as a priority in my life. I am still quite often found in a river!
Having recently qualified from studying and practising for an Ayurvedic Health Diploma, this gives me a deeper understanding of just how critical living a life close to Nature really is for our sense of overall well-being. In fact I would go as far as to say that I would not be in anywhere near the (reasonably!) good shape I am in without having made how and where I live a priority for me.
I have an Architecture degree and worked in this field for approx. 20 years, mainly in timber-frame design where whilst self-employed I detailed the first commercial residential 6 storey timber-frame kit, but also in architects' practices in Worcester as Assoc. director and briefly in Birmingham.
At Worcester rowing club I represented Worcester (and Women!) by competing at Womens' Henley in my mid-thirties, and have done lots of hands-on restoration work on a 4 storey regency townhouse building an extension by myself as well as doing lime plastering, wiring, plumbing, roof work, brickwork and of course, the design/planning work.
I am also qualified in Reiki and Breathwork (pranayama) and my Ayurvedic qualification allows for me to spot what may be the most unbalancing factors in a persons life and choose appropriate tweaks to make be that using yoga, meditation, breathwork, diet, or lifestyle alterations, or if appropriate, call on approx. 100 ayurvedic herbs to aid in guiding a person towards better health.
It is important to note that within the scope of Ayurvedic knowledge and tools, that physical "health" is never seen as separate from the mind. What affects the one always affects the other - right down to every past experience, thought, action and morsel of food!
In the future it may be possible for guests to book a consultation with me whilst they are here - I will update the listing/post when I am ready for that.
I have interests in sustainability, art , photography, writing, permaculture, growing food and herbs and hope that by the end of May 2022 that I will also be qualified to teach yoga and have a permaculture diploma too. After that I hope to embark on the foundation year required to study western herbs to a clinical level, but one(ish) thing at a time!
I firmly believe that the shape & health of the planet is in a totally synergistic relationship with our own mental state as humans, as this is what determines our values, priorities, decisions and actions.

Wakati wa ukaaji wako
As we are all different I acknowledge that some guests may want to be left completely alone, whilst others may feel happier being greeted and shown around - if you feel strongly one way or another, please do not feel awkward about letting me know in a message prior to arrival.
Otherwise, I am usually at home and can respond to a text message, phone call or if needed, a knock on our back door.
