This picturesque detached property is situated on the edge of Wittersham village, next to Stocks Mill.
Just a short drive, in opposite directions are the medieval Cinque Port towns of Tenterden and Rye, as well as Camber Sands and Winchelsea beaches.
This cosy cottage is perfect for a family or group of 4 people, with private drive, 2 bedrooms (1 double and 1 twin) and a large garden perfect for relaxing, and entertaining.
Ideally situated for exploring both Kent and East Sussex's landmarks.

THE PROPERTY
Windmill Cottage is a beautiful airy property with 2 large bay windows in the upstairs lounge overlooking the surrounding countryside and Stocks Mill next door.

INSIDE
On the ground floor you'll find a large inside porch area which houses a washing machine and dryer and the entrance door to the property.

HALLWAY
The spacious hallway has a Victorian fireplace and downstairs toilet, a corridor branches off to the 2 bedrooms and main bathroom.

Stairs lead off the hallway up to the lounge and kitchen areas.

SLEEPING (Ground Floor)
2 bedrooms are arranged on the ground floor, one containing twin beds (2 single beds) and another with a King size double bed.

The bedding is sumptuous with feather down pillows and Egyptian cotton bed linen with throws for extra warmth.
Each room has bedside tables, lamps and a dresser.

A wardrobe space outside the bedrooms provides additional shelving and hanging space with hangers provided.

BATHROOM
The bathroom is equipped with a bath, shower and toilet facilities.
Toilet rolls, hand soap, bath and hand towels are provided.

LOUNGE (First Floor)
The stairs lead on up to the lounge, an airy light room with 3 large windows, 2 are beautiful bay windows with leafy views in 3 directions including over Stocks Mill.
The room has wooden floors, a wood burner, sofa and 2 easy chairs as well as a picturesque bay window with dining table and chairs.
Facilities include: Smart TV, Wifi and a portable bluetooth Bose speaker.

Wood, kindling, matches and fire lighters for the wood burner are provided (enough for 1 fire).

KITCHEN (First floor)
The kitchen steps down off the lounge with a central breakfast bar and French doors leading onto a balcony overlooking your private garden.
The kitchen is fully equipped with microwave, oven/hob, dishwasher, kettle, toaster, cafetière, good quality utensils, cutlery, crockery and glassware.
Tea towels, washing up liquid and cleaning products are provided.

Other provisions provided:
Tea bags, instant, coffee, ground coffee for the cafetiere, sugar, salt, pepper and oil.
Dishwasher tablets, washing up liquid, hand soap and cleaning products.

OUTSIDE
The driveway is accessed from Stocks Road and sweeps round to the rear of the building with space for 2 cars.
Good-sized, landscaped rear garden featuring a gravelled patio area with table and 6 chairs and seat covers, perfect for dining and relaxing in the daytime or evenings.

Good quality Wi-Fi throughout.

CHILDREN/BABIES
Travel cot, stair gate, children's crockery and cutlery are available. As well as a large basket of infant toys and books.

Cleaning products, vacuum, broom, ironing board & iron are provided.

ON ARRIVAL
A welcome hamper of locally sourced products are presented on arrival, such as crisps, chocolate, artisan bread, honey, milk, locally brewed ale and fresh eggs from the neighbour's chickens.

Guests are kindly reminded that as this is a self-catering accommodation and to be prepared to stock up for their stay.

Wittersham is a beautiful Kent village, near the border of East Sussex. There is a well-stocked village store plus Tenterden has a Tesco's and Waitrose.
The medieval town of Rye and the pretty town of Tenterden are both a 10 minutes drive away.
Wittersham's Stock Mill is next door to your property - open on certain weekends to visitors, currently closed due to Covid restrictions.

Located near the Kent / East Sussex border surrounded by stunning countryside there is no shortage of great walks and cycle rides both country and coastal.
Go on a vineyard tour at Chapel Down nearby, book a fishing trip from Rye Harbour, follow the Smugglers' Trail around Rye, browse the antiques shops in Tenterden. Or visit nearby castles Bodiam, Leeds or Scotney (NT) as well as Smallhythe Place (NT).

The famous beach at Camber (Camber Sands) is a 20 minutes drive. There is plenty to do with children in the area.
The Rare Breeds Centre (10 mins) A lovely farm with petting sessions, soft play and outdoor playgrounds
The Kent & East Sussex Railway operates steam trains from nearby Tenterden. Grove Farm Riding School is located in Iden, a 15-minute drive away.
There are sand a stone beaches nearby and plenty of family-friendly restaurants in the area.
There are leaflets and an information pack in the property, Helen is also available to help with recommendations before your stay.
