Surrounded by leafy woodland Evening Star is in a enviable spot on the southernmost tip of the island in an area of AONB. Set in gardens our chalet is one of 6 accessed up 30 steps where the vast sea view is just gorgeous. Positioned adjacent to the coastal path, panoramic countryside & sea views are right on your door step. A walkers paradise.
It is a 10 mins walk to the village, 3 pubs serving great food & mini market. Nearby 2 local beaches. Ferry discount available. WiFi inc but sporadic.

“Evening Star” is our newly refurbished chalet in the quiet village of NITON. We have thoughtfully decorated the space in stunning Farrow and Ball “Stiffkey Blue” and “Strong White” paint shades with a nod to coastal / scandie design.

With a vast expanse of sea spread out in front of you it really is in such an enviable spot. Set away from the noise of the road, you can wake up in total tranquility only for the sound of the dawn chorus as the sun rises. It’s in a sheltered spot lying just below the ‘Undercliffe’ in its own unique sub tropical microclimate which the area is renowned for.

Evening Star has a BRAND NEW DECKED AREA FOR 2022 with AMAZING SEA VIEWS, (as you can see from the pictures.) It is perfectly positioned for alfresco dining, sipping a cheeky beer or chilled glass of wine while you gaze out to that glorious blue sea or look up to the inky dark skies at night on a warm summers evening. The chalet is south facing meaning you get the sunshine thoughout the day and from its elevated position you really do get a feel of living within the canopy of the tree tops.

From the safe security gated carpark, the 100 yard path leads to 30 steps up to the top terrace where our chalet is situated. - (It may therefore preclude those with mobility problems. So bear this in mind before you book. )A helpful luggage trolley is available. The privately owned site which is adults only, is accessed up a short unmade drive - *not Lamborghini friendly! which is set off the main road and just hidden from view. If you come with a bicycle, scooter or motorbike, it’ll be away from “nosey parkers” ! It's a delightfully peaceful site set in large established landscaped gardens. Our chalet is on the upper level in a group of 5 similar chalets. Its called a chalet and you’ll probably assume it’s made of wood but actually it’s a single-storey building of brick construction. The pretty lush location of the site is in a unique spot and exudes a quaint charm.

The chalet has two comfy armchairs and a handy footstool to rest your weary feet after a days walking or sightseeing. There’s a useful reading lamp and ubiquitous TV. We also have WiFi so you can keep up with your emails.

The newly well equipped kitchen has a full hob, combination Microwave oven, slow cooker, fridge and a great range of quality saucepans, utensils, excellent sharp knives and smart crisp white china dinnerware.

We have a fold up table and chairs for when you want to stay indoors and prepare your own meals.

Bedroom.
There is a double bed, crisp white linen, two bedside cabinets with drawers and the built in closet area has plenty of space to hang your holiday wardrobe. Its fresh and restful.

Fully tiled en-suite wet room has wc and shower. (* One step down into the shower.)

Towels / Bed Linen / Tea Towels are all provided. But not beach towels.

Outside:
To the front the BRAND NEW DECKING area for 2022 has MODERN attractive stainless steel hand rails and boats wires to emphasising that sea side feeling. Two recliner chairs, round table and parasol. Outdoor cushions for the furniture is provided for added comfort.

A short 20 minutes walk away is the beach at Castle Haven and Blackgang beach is also close by where you can top up your vitamin sea!

It’s surrounded by beautiful countryside, yet close to civilisation. Badgers and red squirrels are regular visitors and occasionally other little critters are bound to appear. There’s a wildlife haven right on your doorstep. Enthusiasts bring your camera and binoculars! And artists bring your brushes.

If you are searching for rest and recuperation, a stay at “Evening Star” is an ideal opportunity for you to completely disconnect from the overload of daily life, it is a marvellous spot to just relax, write, walk, cycle and explore.
It’s ideally located to discover the whole island and its many attractions that can appeal to all tastes.

But most of all it’s perfect for those of you who just want to just give themselves the gift of a lazy day, to chill out, rest up and enjoy the pretty setting of the chalet and wonderful sea views laid out around you.

If you are a keen stargazer you will be delighted with the inky black skies at Niton as there is very little light pollution here in this part of the island, hence why we chose to name the chalet “EVENING STAR”.

“Evening Star” is ideally placed to enable our guests to explore all that the Isle of Wight has to offer. The chalet is situated on the “Undercliff” which is within a “designated” area of OUTSTANDING Natural Beauty, with direct access to foot and cycle paths, you’re right beside the coastal path. Nearby 2 quiet beaches, Castlehaven and Blackgang are ideal for a swim. It is part of the privately owned “Westcliffe Chalets” site, - a hidden secret tucked away from the road within a secure gated community. If you should bring a bike, scooter or motorcycle it’ll be away from general view behind those electric gates.
Perfectly placed for sightseeing, there’s Osborne House, Ventnor Botanic Gardens, Carisbrooke Castle and so many more cultural to fun ways to spend your days. There is certainly something for everyone’s taste. If you’re keen walkers - on the door step there are plentiful scenic coastal walks and check out those inland walks too, why not visit Tennyson, Mottistone, Brightstone, Culver or Bonchurch Downs all having spectacular stretching views of rolling English countryside out towards the vast open sea.
Ventnor our nearest town is a beautiful area with a Mediterranean feel. Favoured by the Victorians due to its very mild climate and clean air. It still retains most of its Victorian charm and architecture. Both Charles Dickens and Karl Marx lived here for a while.
When you want to take a rest, there’s plenty of eateries to choose from. Try a cream tea at a quaint little cafe or sample fine dining, or better still just chill out in front of your chalet, its magical here on the Isle of Wight and Niton especially is a peaceful unspoilt village. I’m married to Tina we have two children Liam and Phoebe.
We actually had our first holiday together in one of these chalets and that was 38 years ago, we were a mere 18 and 19 years of age. I am a commercial grower and have a garden nursery and Tina is a qualified Interior Designer.
When I’m not busy growing plants for our family run nursery, I enjoy road cycling especially on the Isle of Wight. I love racking up mile upon mile of fabulous coastal roads around the west Wight. Down time for Tina on the other hand is getting her paints out and capturing seascapes.
We fell in love with this spot and actually came back for our honeymoon. We now have two chalets, the other is for our personal use.
The Isle of Wight is special for us and holds many great memories, which I’m hoping you’ll create too while you stay at our chalet “Evening Star.“

We have a management company should we need to call upon them. *Please acknowledge that you understand the number of steps up to the chalet where the views from EVENING STAR are just stunning.
The security gated car park is accessed from the main road up a short unmade drive. *not Ferrari friendly!
* PLEASE NOTE WIFI can be intermittent due to the locality of the chalet. So bear that in mind when booking.
