Visit us at Camellia Mountain Villa to enjoy local tea from our terrace overlooking the Saptha Kanya mountain range and a view of Laxapana Waterfalls and the valley below.

Get off the beaten track and visit nearby tea plantations, see waterfalls, explore the tropical rainforests of the UNESCO protected Peak Wilderness sanctuary, hike Adam's peak, or simply relax on the terrace and watch the sun set over the mountain range.

The Villa is perched on a mountainside surrounded by lush tropical greenery, tea fields and remnants of the Bulathwatta tea factory. The climate is cool and offers a nice break from the tropical heat of Sri Lanka's other provinces.

You have access to a private room with en suite bathroom. You also have shared access to the rest of the property including the large west facing terrace, an outdoor dining area, a kitchenette, and a large living space with a television. These spaces are shared with anyone renting the other room.

The property has free wifi which is available most of the time except for occasional power outages.

We are situated in a tropical rainforest and therefore have the occasional critter visitor such as geckos and insects. They are no cause for concern.

Many travelers to the Central Province stick to the areas serviced by the Kandy-Ella train. A short trip further to Kiriwan Eliya and Camellia Mountain Villa will reward you with a more quiet and serene opportunity to take in Sri Lanka's natural beauty.

From the Villa you can make day trips to the following landmarks:

- Adam's Peak: 40 minute drive or tuk tuk ride, and approximately 4 hours round trip for the hike

- Laxapana Waterfall: 30 minute walk from the Villa to the top of the waterfall, spectacular views, and weather permitting, you can take a swim at the top

- Ravana Rock: 25 minute drive or tuk tuk ride, and approximately 3 hours round trip for the hike

- Aberdeen Waterfall: 15 minute drive or tuk tuk ride, and approximately 30 minutes to walk to the waterfall

- In addition to the tea fields and old factory immediately surrounding the Villa, we can arrange a visit to the Dunkeld Tea Factory where you will learn about tea processing and the history of Ceylon tea. The Castlereagh reservoir is nearby and a great place for a picnic or boat ride.
