Our home is relaxing, quiet..with the sound of birds, up the hill enough for a beautiful view of the lake and mountains right behind. We live mostly on our patio that overlooks our pool with beautiful gardens of blooming bougainvillea, jasmine.

The house is two storey. The master bedroom and bath are on the ground floor, with a king size bed and walk out onto the patio and pool. Upstairs there is a guest bedroom with double bed & it's own complete bathroom and balcony. Also upstairs there is a den/bedroom with a pull out double bed and attached large mirador (balcony) overlooking the pool and lake.
The house is located in a secure 7 house gated community. You will find the English speaking neighbors helpful and friendly with any of your questions of Ajijic. Just minutes to Ajijic square.
Barbecue grill on the terrace. Heated pool. Walled property within the gated community.

The village of Ajijic, just (30 miinutes) south of Guadalajara Airport and is on the largest lake in Mexico. Ajijic is famous for its safety and expatriates from Europe, Canada and USA. While Mexican life revolves around family and church, the expatriate community finds so much to do in the area, from golf, tennis, horseback riding, hiking, kayaking and other sports activities...to art groups, lectures, literary groups, theater groups, organic markets, humanitarian groups, bridge and other game groups, dinner clubs, book clubs, and enjoying fine restaurants. Walmart and a mall have recently been added to our village.
Tour companies that will take you to Guadalajara historical area, the town of Tequila, the ancient ruins, and the other side of the lake.
The village is colorful, with a central plaza, an old church, a cultural center and delightful shopping. Cobblestone streets are everywhere. A beautiful malecon (walk way) along the lake for sunset walks.There are cinemas, small live theaters, and bike paths. We are about a mile above sea level, (1600 m.) which keeps the temperature moderate, always sunny and warm.
Guadalajara is only 40 minutes away by car, with all the shopping you might need: COSTCO, Sam's Club, Walmarts, and wonderful restaurants. Yes, there are also USA chain restaurants like PF Chang, Australian Outback Steakhouse, Chili's, McDonalds, Starbucks,etc.
Ajijic and Lake Chapala area have two golf courses with golf carts and clubs to rent.
Other beautiful colonial towns are close by for wonderful visits and the Pacific Ocean is three hours away.
Bicycles and electric bikes are available to rent.
