These very spacious and private suites are individually decorated with their own verandas overlooking the quirky garden, pool and bay. The veranda offers a quiet refuge from weather and provides a spot to watch the ocean and enjoy the sounds and sights of the garden.

Our lodge is a quiet retreat in the middle of a bustling little town. Protected with its back toward the village, the space is quiet, relaxed and private. The views are mesmorising and the sunsets over the bay provide a masterpiece of fiery colours which capture your attention and bring a sense of peace for the coming night. The individual verandas and the deck and pool offer breakaway spaces for you to be alone with the environment.

The lodge has a guest lounge with large format TV, a quaint bar, the Saxon Arms, a dining area where breakfast is served and a garden and pool area, all available for guest comfort.
Dinners are available by arrangement

Our region has become known as a Responsible Tourism destination and so we prefer no plastic bags, straws or wrappings, we strive to keep our environment plastic free. As part of this philosophy we buy as much as we can (about 80%) of our supplies locally and where we can organically. We have a small vegetable and herb garden the fruits of which land up on your breakfast and dinner plates. Water is a precious resource and whilst we have a plentiful supply in our regions we do ask that you be aware of your usage and be conservative.
Our region, especially in summer carry huge fire risks due to dryness and heat and we ask that you be careful in this regard. It would be useful if you could report fires that seem to be unattended or look potentially risky.

Gansbaai stretches along the coastline of rocky shores interspersed with long beautiful white beaches which gives it a dramatic and authentic ocean town feel.
Gansbaai started its life as a fishing village and still holds that character even though tourism has become a big industry in the town. Fishing is still the heartbeat of the town and Saxon Lodge is located above the fishing harbour creating interest as the trawlers come and go with their catch. People and life is simple with fishing driving may of the homesteads and businesses.
The harbour is surrounded by residential homes, restaurants and small businesses which add flavour to this quaint little town. The main street is essentially the town centre with banks and retail shops of various descriptions. It bustles most of the day as locals and visitors go about their business and then after business hours becomes super quiet.
Pubs, restaurants and shops are all within easy walking distance.
The harbour is fun to explore on foot and there is a lovely walk along the rocky shores from the village to De Kelders where you will find caves and lovely little coves to splash about in.
