Casa Mondrian is the perfect retreat for who wants to isolate away from the risks of COVID infections or just from their busy life. Being a holiday house, during this lockdown months it has been unoccupied by its owners.

It was built in 1973 after modernist influences, the interiors were recently completed at very high standards. It enjoys an elevated position of about 500 m. on top of a hill, looking down to valleys and across lower hills It is a heaven for those who want peace and luxury.

Colourful, playful and spacious rooms. Numerous large windows allow spectacular views from any position. The peaceful location is enhanced by absence of public lights in the immediate vicinity, allowing a real immersion in nature and its sounds, with moon and stars to admire and guide.
You will soon realise how everything in the house is new, functional and in perfect conditions. This is because the interiors were only built in 2015-17 and with one vision/style. The bold colours of Mondrian, of modernist art used inside reflect the geometric lines of the front and primary colours of the window frames. A truly unique place that really treats you.

3 spacious bedrooms. 2 double (1 with superking and 1 with king sized beds) and 1 triple, perfect for children, with 2 single beds and 1 mezzanine queen size bed. Two of the four toilets are on the bedrooms’ floor. The master bathroom is shared by the 2 double bedrooms with a bathtub big enough to fit 2 adults and 1 child. The fun, red and grey shower room is adiacent to the children bedroom. Being recently refurbished, all the bathrooms are newly tiled and taps and showers are modern and efficient. Bidets are fitted in 3 bathrooms.

Possibly the biggest modern family kitchen you have ever been in. About 30 m2. Bespoke to our design, it is a restful place is pastel blue and liliac colours while being highly efficient. Two big windows overlooking the olive groves below the house and hills opposite let fresh air and cool breeze in while relaxing the mind. A large induction hob is dominated by a very large black fluted extractor. This is very striking and powerful, as the kitchen has no doors and it is separated from the dining area only by a double fronted fireplace. The extractor helps preventing fumes and odours from spreading across the ground floor. A double sink of extralarge dimensions, large Smeg fridge, a large oven and dishwasher make it very easy to cook for and serve eight or more people. I have included a classic BRITA water softner because the water is very hard there, so please take a classic, small water filter (BOOTS own ones are also fitting). Cuttlery and crockery are abundant. There is a barbeque to be used outside. No microwave and no kettle as the induction hob can boil water in less than one minute
The fridge middle drawer (the fridge has 3 compartments: fridge on top, fridge/freezer in the middle and freezer at the bottom) can be regulated in temperature from -2C° to 10C°, it is perfect to store white or red wine in (local wine is a must) if not used as a freezer. I use it for storing fresh bred too.
The round table in the kitchen can be carefully moved to the portico or terrace outside the dining area if there is no table there.

The ground floor is very spacious. Two different doors can be used to enter the house on this level. Divided into 4 areas (TV area, sitting area, dining are and kitchen), it is an open space of about 100 square metres. It also includes a protected outdoor space next to the dining room, that opens wit a triple glass sliding door as wide as the wall. Dining there is a blissed experience, from breakfast to dinner, it offers protection from direct sun and rain while providing a very secluded view of the green valley and of Colle del Marchese village. Lighting has been carefully studied to give both bright or soft solutions. There is a toilette in this floor.
The second floor is all devoted to a study room and a spectacular terrace from where the views are breathtaking. We use it to relax in the evening while conversing, watching falling stars (in August) and drinking local wine. Music and a book can be the perfect alternative to socialising in this quiet heaven.
The biggest terrace is on the first floor. Next to the bedrooms. This is a sunny spot perfect for sun bathing. In August it can be too hot to lounge there, but we have slept on it using inflatable mattresses during hot days. The night skies are often as clear as void space.
