Camp Hornbill was set up in 2010 by residents of the village Kyar, that lies within the Pawalgarh Conservation Reserve (PCR). The PCR is also part of the larger Corbett Tiger Reserve in Uttarakhand India.
Sehemu
The camp accommodations blend in with the forest setting due to the careful use of building materials such as mud and thatch, we have also ensured that our color schemes are earthy and merge with our surroundings. One of our foremost objectives is to have a low impact on our ecology thus we have adopted only low light cfl’s at common places like the dining hut, buffet hut, toilets and kitchen.
Ufikiaji wa mgeni
The Chaupal Hut: This is a large hand crafted hut with a thatched roof located in the centre of the camp.
The Dhaba: This is an elongated serving table made with mud with a thatch roof.
Fishpond: Watching our resident birds such as the pond Heron and the Cormorant in action is always nice while having your lunch at the Chaupal. This pond was specially made to recreate a macro ecosystem within the camp.
Volleyball court: a proper in-house ground for volleyball is a famous place among sport enthusiasts.
