Follow the donkey. Beautiful farm in the country. Quiet, peaceful, and only a few miles from Snow Hill. Surrounded by larger cities, Greenville, Wilson, Kinston and Goldsboro, all within a short drive. Near Cutter Creek Golf, ECU and Chef and the Farmer. Bedroom has double bed and private bath. I’m currently fostering rescues...a small pup named Sam, and a Siamese lilac point kitten named Asia. So if you are allergic to animals please be aware. Coffee, tea and snacks free, upon request. This spacious home is in the country on a 30 acre farm surrounded by hay fields and horse pastures, about 3 miles outside of the Greene County seat of Snow Hill. Don’t be surprised if you find yourself driving behind a tractor or combine that has been working on a farm and now slowly lumbering down the road to another location. It is a quiet country place with a lot of nature to enjoy and explore. Convenient to larger cities, Greenville, Wilson, Kinston and Goldsboro, all within a 20-30 minute drive. Only 15 minutes from Cutter Creek Golf and 20 minutes from famed Chef and the Farmer and Boiler Room in Kinston. East Carolina University, Vidant Medical Center, SJAF base, LCC, PCC, Barton Univ, are within a 25 minute drive. Bedroom consists of a double bed with private bath. Sheets, towels, shampoo, hairdryer, and iron all available. I also have an additional bedroom if there are more than 2 guests, or if the 2 guests prefer separate bedrooms. Bath would be shared between the two bedrooms. Additional charge for adding another bedroom. Access to laundry available...share with homeowner. Long term rates are available and negotiable, depending on length of stay.

The ranch is a great place to view stars at night. Very little light pollution here. Also, lots of wildlife always available to watch. Deer come to the pond at night and in the mornings for a sip of water. Owls, herons, pileated woodpeckers, hawks, rabbits, squirrels, all easy to see most days. In the summer the bird count is glorious. Just sit back and enjoy, or take a nature walk. Two beautiful horses and one small donkey call this home, too. They love to be fed peppermints and will come to greet you.

Also, just a short walk or golf cart ride is a small boutique breakfast and sweet shop, Farmer and the Dail, open everyday but Sunday and Monday. They have fresh coffee and wonderful food such as Grit Bowls, Bacon and Cheese Biscuit Bombs, sweet rolls, cookies, cakes, cheese straws, chicken salad, pimento cheese, brownies, and much, much more. And, only a short hop away. Dine in or bring it back to enjoy on the deck.

During the summer, there are fresh fruit and vegetables everywhere in the neighborhood. And during the fall, crops are being harvested. You will be in the heart of tobacco and sweet potato country and see how it all comes together.

Meeting new people and making friends is always fun. My country farm and house are large enough to share with others that may need a comfortable and safe place to stay. I volunteer quite a bit so I am very busy and there is always some sort of repair going on or art project in the works here. I grew up in eastern North Carolina on a tobacco farm, so I can tell you about all the best food, local sights and maybe send you to new places you may not know about. Lots of fun things to do and see. And you can help me feed the fish and give donkey peppermints. What are you waiting for?
