The hallway leads into the bedroom with a brand new double bed, antique desk and mirror and old pine wardrobe. Through the French doors at the back, the flat has the best view of the garden in the house. The ladder of gardens – a pear orchard until 1860 – plays host to a variety of birdlife including woodpeckers and owls. Until recently a music studio, the studio doors remain, keeping street noise to a minimum and giving the bedroom a cabin feel.
