Pristine living in a Mountain Chalet, having breath taking views of snow capped Himalayan peaks of Trisul, Nandadevi and Panchchuli. Located over a landscaped green hill in a village called Majkhali, a peaceful personal retreat and a splendid escape near Ranikhet, at just 9 hours drive from Delhi, 3 hours drive from Nainital/Bhimtal. A 50 Km drive further takes you to hill stations like Kausani, Binsar, & Almora. Please read detailed description for more information

Our mountain Chalet overlooks a gorgeous forest covered valley, and tall Himalayan peaks of Trisul, Nandadevi & Panchchuli (best views between September to February - visible from upper deck) .

Property Layout:
Our mountain home is a duplex villa
* The property has 2 bedrooms, and 2 Bathrooms (1 attached, 1 common) on the lower level
* a third bedroom with a balcony (located on upper level of the chalet), which is kept as a recreation room (or can house 2 extra guests on Futon Beds)
* a cute Living room with an informal sitting, a fire place (decorative only), and a rosewood writing table
* a small open kitchenette next to the living room
* A beautiful paved patio, overlooking the lawns and a tree lined view of the Someshwar valley.

Amenities:
* An LED TV has been provided in the Living Room for family viewing
* Wifi internet connectivity is provided
* Kitchenette is small yet has most required utensils, appliances like microwave, refrigerator, gas stove, etc, and necessary cutlery and crockery
* All bathrooms have storage water heaters for hot water supply (25 Lts each)
* All bedrooms have table fans for summer months (air-conditioning not required)
* Heaters / heat convectors in all rooms for usage in winter
* Power back up is through UPS system, which will power the lights and fans, however heavy electronics like kitchen equipment, geysers / water heaters, room heaters, electric iron, and hair dryers cannot be used on power back up in case of a power outage
* Fresh clean Linen is provided at every check in

Rental Inclusions:
* Complementary Housekeeping - once a day
* Electricity - 40 Units per day (calculated pro-rata). Enough for running the house with heating. The cap is to prevent misuse / wastage of electricity by leaving water heaters / room heaters left on unattended. Additional electricity will be charged at Rs. 7 per unit.
* Free Wifi & Cable TV

Rental Exclusions:
* No meal is included in the price. We do not provide meals. Please read meals and dining or cooking by caretaker section below for more information.
* Linen change cost is INR 500 per bed per time

Meals & Dining: Dining options are also available at Woodsvilla residency (50 Mts away), Woodsvilla Resort (150 Mts away), The Cafe (1.5 Km away), and ITC Windsor Lodge (4 Km away). Home delivery of Pizzas, noodles and Momo's is also available (please ask our care taker for the menu's kept at the property).

Cooking by caretaker - Our caretaker Ganga can help with basic cooking. A small fee of Rs. 500 per day is payable to Ganga for cooking services. Groceries are to be provided by the guests as per choice (please do not ask Ganga to go get groceries for you as she cannot walk 2-3 Kms in the hills to get groceries). For long term bookings (2 weeks or more), the cooking charges by the care taker will be Rs. 5000 per month (calculated pro-rata as per no. of days of your booking).

Pet Policy:
* We welcome your pets into the property, however we levy an additional one time cleaning fee of Rs. 2500 per booking towards hosting guests with pets. This fee is to take care of dry-cleaning of sofa's, carpets, etc after you leave the property, so that it is pet hair and smell free for our next guests.
* The pet should not be left outdoors after 6:30 pm, when it gets dark. A pet being left outdoors at night can attract leopards from nearby forests by the smell of pets.
* The guest will ensure safety of our team including maid, and of neighbors / children / people scared of pets, and shall maintain necessary safety precautions at all times. If the pet harms any person, the same can lead to necessary legal and criminal action against the guest
* The guests will be required to sign a pet liability form at check in

Stay arrangement for 1 driver / helper is possible at the property. A cost of Rs. 500 per night is payable for accommodating the driver / helper. Accommodation for driver / helper cannot be organized if a cooking by caretaker is being opted (as then the caretaker will be given the service room). Only 1 person can stay in the service room.

Our guests are most welcome to enjoy all areas and facilities of the property, except the Indoor Fireplace which is decorative only (not for use). We can organize an open air bonfire at an extra cost (Rs. 1500) for each time use of the bonfire. We can also organize a barbecue setup for our guests, the rent for apparatus is Rs. 1500 per use (subject to availability).

Please note - This is a private home, and not a hotel. Please do not expect hotel kind of services at the property. We focus on cleanliness, good quality well maintained linen, and homely comfort for our guests.
The near by stores selling basic groceries are located at Majkhali market which is about 1 KM away. The market shuts down by 7:30 PM. For specific requirements (things not available at Majkhali), the guests would have to travel to Ranikhet, which is at a distance of about 10KM. Majkhali does not have any wine shop. The nearest wine shop is in Ranikhet. Since the property is a forest chalet, there are natural wild creatures and insects which live in the vicinity, however they do not harm humans if not disturbed.

Late / early check-in / check-out:
Extra charges of INR 2000 are payable for late night/ early morning check-in / check-out between 7 PM to 9AM. These charges are applicable towards extra duty hours payable to our staff, and their commute from the property to their home at late hours.

Water - Water is scarce in the mountains. The neighborhood does not have a water connection by the Government, and we have to purchase / organize water for each guest, through local villagers. We request our guests not to waste water. Adequate water will be provided for your stay. If we observe wastage of water, a water refill charge of Rs. 500 per day will be applicable.

The neighborhood is a beautiful, non commercialized, mountain village, with few residential cottages, and resorts. If you are lucky, you may hear the leopard growl, sometimes at night, from the forest below. The place is a heaven for Artists, Photographers, Bird watchers, and Star gazers.

Our property is managed by Hostie - a company for boutique travel homes in North India. Our Kumaon zone Manager - Prem will be available to coordinate with the guests for a comfortable stay. Our care taker - Ganga stays at the village of Majkhali, and comes every day between 10 A.M. to 4 P.M. to take care of our guests. Our team will be available daily to take care of our guests, and we endeavor to ensure that our guests have a comfortable and memorable stay.
Our local manager, will visit the property from time to time to check with you if you are doing fine, or if there is any issue you are facing, and also to check the property for any damages. This is essential for us, and we understand and respect your privacy. He will take prior telephonic appointment from you before visiting the property, and we request you to kindly accommodate him to do his job. For any time, if you require any urgent assistance, our immediate response team numbers along with our co-host / host contact numbers will be mentioned at the property in house rules, as well as at other places.
