My Father, Cyrus Gaite Obsuna, was a businessman who grew up here in Barangay Cabatuan, along the shores of Lake Buhi. As a young man, he went to Manila to study and work and eventually settling in Cebu where he established a successful export business of handcrafted products from puka shells and other indigenous materials, rattan, buri & stone craft furniture exports.

He also with equal success went into real estate ventures, being one of the partners of the then Hilton Cebu Resort and Towers (now Moevenpick Hotel and Resort), as well as other varied land investments.

He has always wanted to give back to his place of origin here in Buhi, Cabatuan and that is why in 1994 he started to build Lake Buhi Resort as a sort of giving back to the town and provide employment opportunities.
