Cross the famous Bridge over the Atlantic to the tranquil idyll that is the Isle of Seil. Seil is the perfect base to explore the West Coast & Hebrides, with Oban's ferries, restaurants and shops just 30 minutes away. Seil has its own golf course, well stocked shop, & two great pubs serving food.
Enjoy the abundant wildlife on stunning walks or simply sitting at your base observing the birds & deer in the garden. Kayakers can set off at high tide directly from the chalet shore.

Iona Chalet is a detached cabin-style property that has been entirely refurbished to a high specification, & has been immaculately maintained since then, & entirely redecorated for the 2022 season. It sits within a very small development of 7 chalets, with gated access. It is luxuriously appointed, & has a spacious, characterful, light and airy open plan living, fully-fitted integrated kitchen, and dining area with french doors leading to an enclosed and covered veranda for spring and summer, and cosy log burning stove for the winter. Every care has been taken to make your stay as comfortable as possible from the luxury shower room with underfloor heating, to cosy bedrooms. It has one double bedroom, & one good sized single/dressing room. There is also ample space for a cot in the single room, which I can provide upon request. It has a good sized lawned garden surrounded by fields & woodland, & is in an idyllic setting close to the shore of Balvicar Bay. The shoreline is approximately 100 metres from the chalet, & is easily accessed by way of a wooden gated walkway. Kayakers can set off at high tide directly from the shore.
All electric consumption is included in the price, & in winter/inclement weather logs & kindling. I also provide a choice of red or white wine, fresh flowers, eggs, preserves, & initial supply of Nespresso coffee, tea & hot chocolate, vegan friendly Scottish refillable hand soap, shower & hair gel, & conditioner.
I’m not a company, letting agent or absent host & I believe it’s important for me to undertake the cleaning myself to keep it to an excellent standard.
I provide all bed linen and towels, all of which are stripped & washed between guests, including duvet, mattress & pillow protectors. I provide approved cleaning & sanitising products should you wish to clean during your stay, but this is your prerogative. I do not expect you to clean, just simply to respect my property & take care of it as your own. The property is fitted with linked smoke, CO2 & heat detectors in accordance with updated legislation.

Seil is not overly populated with holiday accommodation, & so it is never crowded. Balvicar Chalets is a small community (just seven) of cabin-type properties, some of which are lived in permanently, within gated grounds. They are set in a very quiet & peaceful setting, backing on to farmland and overlooking Balvicar Bay. Iona Chalet is just 100 metres from the shore, which can be accessed by a wooden walkway.

The chalet has key safe entry, which is ideal for a socially distanced or late check-in, & you will be sent the key safe combination around a week before your stay commences. Whilst I live just 5 minutes away, on Seil, in the current climate I will refrain from meeting any of my guests. I will, of course be on hand via the App or phone at any time should you experience any problems, or have any questions, & of course will attend if necessary.
Please note that I’m not a property management company/business, overseas investor or absent host. Iona Chalet is my only holiday let. I’m passionate about this area & I’m lucky to call Seil my home. I take my host research very seriously, which has involved trying as many restaurants, pubs, cafes, walks & days out etc as possible, so that I can pass that information on to you. My dedication knows no bounds!
