Stazzo Chivoni is an early XIX century country-house, entirely built with granite stones. It is surrounded by unspoilt nature with sparse Mediterranean scrub wood and vegetation, dry-stone walls and small farm cottages.
Sheltered by main winds, the place benefits from an ideal weather all year round with warm summers and mild winters.

Interiors are simple and comfortable.

Stazzo Chivoni is 15 km only from the sea: you may choose between large, unspoilt and almost empty beaches of the western coast, water sports paradise where you can try wind and kite sufing, diving and sailing (Porto Pollo and Palau) or the exclusive and fashionable beaches of Costa Smeralda at east. Corsica and the amazing islands of Archipelago of Maddalena, few kilometres north, are also easily reachable by boat.
Those who like diving will enjoy the extraordinary sea beds of the lunarlike headland of Capo Testa (diving centers in Santa Teresa).

But Gallura isn’t all about beaches and sea; there’s a greener and unspoilt nature just a few kilometres from the beach. The hinterland is rich of dense cork woods, ilex groves and millenary wild olive trees you can explore by car, bike or simply walking around. The Luogosanto region is peppered with country churches, stazzi and archaelogical sites. On the way to Tempio Pausania the countryside changes rapidly: from the monolith of Mount Pulchiana to the boulder-strewn landscape of Valle della Luna and the thick pine woods of Maount Limbara you will enjoy terrific views.

For those who like trekking, Stazzo Chivoni organizes trekking tours along ancient rural paths or along the coast.

At night, you can savour the traditional dishes of Gallura at the agriturismi of the region or experiment local traditions in country feasts (in great numbers during easter and summer) where you will try the real shepherds’ food such as “suppa cuata”, meat-based broths, pasta, offal-based dishes and homemade wine. These popular feasts (that always end with live-music and local dances) were, in the past, one of the rare occasions that shephers and farmers had to socialize.

Not to miss, in August: “Musica sulle Bocche” in Santa Teresa (live-concerts on the beach at dawn and sunset) and “Time in Jazz” festival in Berchidda with world famous trumpet-player, Paolo Fresu.

The double bedroom, with en suite bathroom, has a rustic bohemian décor – vine branches and sea shells - with relaxing colours and polished cement floor.
Your lavish breakfast will include: yoghurts, fruit juices, fresh milk, tea or coffee, cereals, jams, freshly baked bread, home-baked cakes and seasonal products from the vegetable garden, brought out to the pergola in summer.
The house is surrounded by a large Mediterranean garden: olive trees, arbutus, myrtle, and rosemary. The vegetable garden and the fruit trees are strictly organic.

Sono nata e ho vissuto a Milano fino al 2005, anno in cui mi sono trasferita in Sardegna. Abito in campagna, in un posto meraviglioso e piuttosto isolato. La scelta di lasciare il caos della città per vivere nella natura era stata fatta con il mio compagno, appassionato velista. Alla fine lui se n'è andato ed io sono rimasta! Mi piace la pace che c'è qui, il clima mite in inverno, la luce forte e il sole. Mi piace fare le passeggiate al mare fuori stagione, quando non c'è nessuno. E mi piace andare in canoa quando non c'è vento. Mi piace andare alle feste campestri, in estate, dove si mangia tutti insieme seduti a lunghissimi tavoli e poi si balla. Mi piace fare le gite alla Maddalena, perché prendere il traghetto è sempre una festa! Mi piace andare al mercato, ad assaggiare formaggi sempre diversi. Mi piace stare pigramente sdraiata a prendere il sole sulla sabbia calda in primavera. Mi piace stare nel mio giardino a leggere un libro al sole, con le mucche come vicine di casa. Mi piace avere ospiti perché mi fa allegria occuparmi di qualcuno e perché il Paradiso va condiviso!
