Short-term rental regulations

The adapted Tourist Tax and Tourism Promotion Fee Act of the Municipality of Klosters-Serneus came into force on November 1, 2019, along with all applicable regulations.

Spa tax

The municipality of Klosters-Serneus levies a spa tax (Kurtaxe) as well as a tax for tourism promotion (Abgabe für Tourismusförderung). Every guest who stays in the municipality of Klosters-Serneus has to pay a spa tax. There are certain exemptions, such as for Children under 12 years of age. The spa tax is levied year-round throughout the municipality for each night of overnight accommodation and is at CHF 5.50 per night.

Reporting obligation and collection

All providers of overnight lodging must comply conscientiously with the regulations about their reporting obligations, including collection methods and timely submission of spa taxes.
